Judy Eileen Reynolds

March 15th, 1949 – April 29th, 2024

Judy Eileen Reynolds, 75, of Table Grove passed away at 8:37 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Judy was born to Herman and Ruth Poen March 15, 1949, in Lake City, IA. The family later moved to Ipava. Judy spent the rest of her life in the Ipava and Table Grove area. In 1967, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Jim Woods. She and Jim raised their sons, Jeff and Jerry, on their farm outside Ipava until Jim’s passing in 1986. Judy married Bill Skien in 1990. They loved traveling with friends and family until Bill’s passing in 1998. In 1999, Judy married Kenny Reynolds. They enjoyed many years together on their farm prior to her recent illness. He survives.

In addition to her husband Kenny, Judy is survived by her sons Jeff (Tonya) Woods and Jerry Woods, sister Zelda Esselman (Ron Moss), brother Rick Poen (Beth), grandson Logan Woods, granddaughter Cassidy Woods, and nephew Brandon Poen (Renee). Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Jim and Bill, grandson Cooper Woods, and niece Michelle Esselman.

Judy spent her working years at Farm King, working in nearly every department in the store before transferring to the corporate office. With her room-brightening smile and matching personality, Judy was a welcoming fixture in the Farm King corporation for four decades. In her retirement, Judy enjoyed reading Beverly Lewis novels and treasured the extra time she could spend spoiling the people she held dear.

Judy enjoyed cooking for others and taking care of those she loved. At family gatherings, Judy was always the last to eat and often had to be gently “scolded” before she would stop flitting about and have a seat. Judy especially loved baking and was well known for her Christmas sugar cookies and other sweet treats. More than anything, Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. Rarely would expected visitors pull into the driveway and not find Judy on her front porch, eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Whether at work or in her home, with friends or with family, Judy’s focus was the happiness of others--helping others, feeding others, visiting others, loving others--and her gentle and generous spirit, her kind and beautiful soul, will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Judy’s final weeks were not easy, but we know she is reaping her heavenly rewards and probably cooking way too much food at that mansion in the sky.

A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Interment will be private at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Industry United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the Ipava Christian Church.

A classmate of ours, we always cared a lot for this sweet girl. Judy was loving and fun with the cutest little laugh. Judy was my coworker and friend at Farm King for many years. You could always count on her for a helping hand in any task. Her smile was contagious and she would get a twinkle in her eye when you just knew she was up to something. And no office party was complete without "Judy Cookies". I will miss her very much.
