Jack D. Winston

July 14th, 1932 – October 1st, 2018

Jack D. Winston, 86, of Rushville, IL, passed away at 4:50 pm on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born on July 14, 1932 in Sheldons Grove, IL, the son of Edward and Dorothy (Workman) Winston. Jack married Betty Weishaar on April 21, 1951 in Beardstown, IL. Betty preceded Jack in death on August 22, 2018.

Also preceding Jack in death are his 2 brothers, Junior and John “Bill” Winston, and sister, Beverly Burgard.

Surviving are his 2 daughters, Nancy Winston of Rushville and Christy (and John) Chubick of Bloomington, IL, 3 grandchildren, Shelly Toland, Jennifer (and Dave) Ziemer, and Kayla (and Josh) Smith, and 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Coralynn, and Calvin.

Jack was a farmer for 56 years. He was a tinker and especially enjoyed working on clocks.

Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL. Pastor Charla Meyers will be officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be in the Browning Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Schuyler County.
