Edith V. Lee

April 6th, 1918 – June 20th, 2018

Edith V. Lee, 100, of Augusta, IL, passed away at 11:49 pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL. She was born on April 6, 1918 in Astoria, IL, the daughter of Hugh and Susie (Farwell) Curless. She married Mark Stambaugh. She later married Harry Lee on February 27, 1960 in Ipava, IL. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1972.

Also preceding her in death is her son, Charles Stambaugh, granddaughter, Cynthia Maybe, grandson, Jeff Heaton, 4 brothers, John, Jack, Bill, and Ted Curless and 4 sisters, Opal Schisler, Nellie Ruth, Olive Howell and Nora Curless.

Survivors include her son, Raymond Stambaugh of Ipava, IL, her daughter, Janice Roberts of Augusta, 7 grandchildren, Robbie Stambaugh, Randy (and Sheila) Stambaugh, Cody (and Brittany) Stambaugh, Jodi (and Brad) Ballas, Jeremy (and Keshia) Heaton, Corey (and Constance) Roberts, and Charles Mark Stambaugh, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Colleen Stambaugh of Canton, IL, and her 2 sisters, Myrna Phillips of Astoria and Doris Robertson of Ipava.

She was a homemaker.

Edith's family was her life. She enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and gardening.

Services will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A visitation will take place 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Ipava Cemetery in Ipava. Memorials may be made to Blessing Hospice in Quincy, IL.
