Norma Jean Marshall

April 10th, 1929 – April 12th, 2018

Norma Jean Marshall of Palm Desert, CA passed away at her home on April 12, 2018 at 3:08 p.m. She was born on April 10, 1929 in Clayton, Il, the daughter of Wallace and Edna (Marsh) Power. She married Lee Marshall of Ipava in 1953 and he survives.

Also surviving are her brother Glen Power of Ft. Pierce, FL, nephew Steven Simpson of Alpine, CA, niece Cynthia Roe of Dallas, TX, nephew Guy Power of Jupiter, FL, and niece Janet Horvath of Ft. Pierce, FL, and six grand nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane Simpson.

Norma graduated from Clayton High School,. attended Western Illinois University, graduating in 1951. Norma and Lee moved to California in 1957. Norma taught school in Glendale at Mark Kepple for 25 years in the same classroom. Many of her students were second generation. In 1986 she retired and moved to Palm Desert. She was a very active member of PEO and Coachella Valley Pan Hellenic. She also enjoyed playing golf and mahjong.

Norma loved to travel, making several trips to Europe, parts of the Mideast and to Asia.

She was a very loving, caring lady.

Graveside services will be held in the Ipava Cemetery, Ipava, IL at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Please, no flowers. You may make a gift to the charity of your choice in Norma's memory.

My sincere condolences for the family Marshal for the loss of your beloved Norma. Taking comfort in knowing that our God Jehovah promise to remove all sickness, death and pain from the humankind, this promise is recorded in the Bible in Revelation 21:4,5, and he also promise a resurrection for our loved ones. John 6;39,40. God promises will be fullfilled in a near future. The peace of God be with the family.
