Rosa Lee Burgard

April 12th, 1931 – October 17th, 2017

Rosa Lee Burgard, 86, of Havana, IL, passed away at 12:23 pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Renaissance Care Center in Canton, IL. She was born on April 12, 1931 in Adair, IL, the daughter of Elzie and Bessie (Gardner) Danner. Rosa Lee married Lester E. Burgard on August 27, 1949 in Astoria, IL. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2017.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, 2 brothers, Harold and Ronald Danner and 1 sister, Elizabeth Basinger.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Jerry Burgard of Havana, Lyle (and Pamela) Burgard of Browning, IL and Rev. Rick (and Cathy) Burgard of Havana, 2 daughters, Sheila (and Gary) Sloter of Astoria and Loretta (and Rev. Bob) Mansfield of Warsaw, IN, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Rosa Lee was a Pastor’s wife for over 68 years.

She was a member of Havana Church of the Nazarene in Havana. She liked to crochet, sew, play the piano, and garden. She enjoyed her grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Havana Church of the Nazarene in Havana. Pastor Rick Burgard and Pastor Bob Mansfield will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, October 20th at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria. Memorials may be made to the Havana Church of the Nazarene or Harbor Light Hospice.

Sorry to hear of your loss, especially so soon after Lester's passing.

We have Dr. appt tomorrow and commitments on Saturday that cannot be changed.

The great thing is, they are together again in the presence of God, Himself. No more pain and suffering...
